Born Dean Salvatore Ciallella to JoAnne Termini and John G. Ciallella, Dean evolved into "Dino Bravo" as soon as he realized how his popularity as a musician and songwriter was growing. "I am very proud of my last name. It has nothing to do with my background at all. I just think Dino Bravo is much easier to say. It also protects my interests and not-so-well meaing fans."
